Some of our guns are custom made Dakota Rifles with wood we hand select at the Sturgis, SD factory for our customers. Our Coopers with their legendary accuracy come from our neighbors in Montana. Many of our guns are rare and collectable. Old Winchester lever action rifles and Colt SAA are among guns we see often. We are a full service gun shop with a gunsmith. We carry most brands of firearms and being in business since 1976 we have yet to see it all, but we have seen a lot.

First Stop Gun is a family run business, specializing in high grade and collectible firearms. We buy guns and are happy to take trades. We have been in business for 28 years. Dakota Arms and Cooper Arms are an important part of our business. We have carried a large selection of Dakotas for the past 15 years. The Dakota Arms factory is located nearby in Sturgis, South Dakota. When you order a custom Dakota from us we guide you through your options and then we hand pick the very best wood possible. Our Dakotas are the best they can be.

Cooper Arms is one of our favorite firearm manufacturers. Dan Cooper's rifles exemplify quality workmanship and accuracy. Cooper rifles are in a Class by themselves with a demand that exceeds supply. We stock in our store a large selection of Coopers. A Cooper rifle is worth the wait, but we just might have the one you're looking for in stock.

Many of our firearms are rare and collectible. Winchester, Colt and Browning are some of the collectibles we see often. We have been trading in old and collectible firearms since we first opened. If you have a collectible firearm to sell or trade we are very interested.

We sell Black Hills Ammunition at very competitive prices. Manufactured here in Rapid City, Black Hills Ammunition has a reputation for producing ammo of extremely high quality and consistency.
